White & Allen, P.A. is a professional
corporation engaged in the general practice of law in
Eastern North Carolina. The firm maintains offices in
Kinston, Lenoir County, North Carolina; Snow Hill, Greene
County, North Carolina and New Bern, Craven County, North
Carolina. The firm employs sixteen (16) attorneys, fifteen
(15) paralegals and twelve (12) secretaries and support
personnel.
The law firm's attorneys have provided legal services to
Eastern North Carolina since 1927. The present law firm
began in 1970 as a result of a merger between two smaller
firms whose senior partners were Thomas J. White, Jr. and
William A. Allen, Jr. Since that time, the firm has grown in
size and experience to meet the legal needs of its
clientele.
Generally, the law practice of White & Allen, P.A.
covers both criminal and civil law with an emphasis on
bankruptcy, civil
litigation, health care law, corporations, partnerships,
personal injury, insurance, real estate, taxation, estate
planning and administration. Over the years, the firm has
developed specialized expertise in these areas of practice.
This has occurred in response to the needs of our clients
and the backgrounds and experience of the attorneys. The law
firm has two attorneys with a Master of Laws in Taxation and
three attorneys with Masters Degrees in Business
Administration.
The firm has developed word-processing and computer
systems using the most advanced technology available. This
allows the firm to promptly and efficiently provide the best
possible legal services to its clients. These systems also
allow the firm to hold down the cost of legal services by
allowing the firm to reduce overhead costs and pass the
savings on to the client. The firm is aware of the
escalating costs of legal services and has committed itself
to keeping costs down. The firm uses paralegals extensively
for services when possible. Services provided by paralegals
are always under the supervision of an attorney. Because the
hourly rates for paralegals are lower than attorneys, the
client again enjoys cost savings.
White & Allen has been a leader for many years in
contributions to public service. From serving in the State
Legislature to membership on the City School Board; from
being Chairman of the State Arts Commission to participation
in the local Chamber of Commerce, the firm has always
encouraged participation by its members in public
organizations. In this way, the firm recognizes its
responsibilities to the public and the people and
institutions it seeks to serve.
The firm believes that its service area
of Kinston-Lenoir County, Snow Hill-Greene County, New
Bern-Craven County and Eastern North Carolina will continue
to expand and grow. The firm intends to match this growth in
personnel and technology so as to be able to continue to
provide quality legal services to the area. |
