White & Allen Attorney Steps Down from Transportation Committee

White & Allen attorney Joseph S. Bower stepped down from his seat on the Lenoir County Transportation Committee after nearly 20 years of service. Bower has represented the Kinston-Lenoir County Chamber of Commerce on the Lenoir County Transportation Committee since the first organizational meeting in the early 1990s.

The Lenoir County Transportation Committee serves a very important role in reference to roads and transportation in Lenoir County. The Committee has been instrumental in making recommendations and working with the North Carolina Department of Transportation and The Eastern Regional Planning Organization to bring road projects to Lenoir County.

According to Bower, “It has been a rewarding experience. The cohesiveness of the board members acting for the betterment of the county has contributed to the success of bringing roads and road improvements to the county. I want to thank the Kinston-Lenoir County Chamber of Commerce for allowing me to be a part of this important Committee.”

Bower is no stranger to community participation and volunteerism. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Lenoir Committee of 100.

Bower earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina, his MBA from East Carolina University and his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.
