White & Allen Attorneys Named to Super Lawyers and Rising Stars 2012

White & Allen attorneys C. Gray Johnsey, John C. Bircher, Katherine A. Forrestand E. Wyles Johnson have been named to North Carolina Super Lawyers andRising Stars 2012, a listing of outstanding lawyers around the nation who have a notable degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
This is Johnsey’s sixth recognition by Super Lawyers and Bircher’s second. Both have received numerous other honors, including Best Lawyers in America and Legal Elite. No more than 5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected to Super Lawyers.
Johnsey’s practice is concentrated in tax and probate law. He is a North Carolina State Bar board-certified specialist in estate planning. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Johnsey holds an MBA from East Carolina University and earned his law degree from Cumberland School of Law of Samford University in Alabama. He received a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from the University of Florida.
Bircher’s practice is concentrated in bankruptcy with emphasis on creditor and debtor rights. He is a North Carolina State Bar board-certified specialist in business and consumer bankruptcy. Bircher is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds a law degree from the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University.
Forrest and Johnson have been named Super Lawyers Rising Stars 2012, a category given to accomplished attorneys who are under 40 or who have been practicing for 10 years or fewer. No more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected to Rising Stars.
Forrest’s practice is concentrated in family law and criminal defense. She is a graduate of Florida State University and received her law degree from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts. She is president of the Craven County Bar Association. This is her first recognition by Rising Stars.
Johnson’s practice is concentrated in Medicaid planning, general civil litigation, complex business litigation, and construction law. He is a graduate of Old Dominion University where he earned his MBA. He went on to receive his law degree from the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University. This is his first recognition by Rising Stars.
