L. Peyton Hooven is an Associate Attorney within the firm’s Elder Care Planning department. Peyton works alongside Board-Certified Specialists’ Wyles Johnson and Amanda Owens and is building her practice in Elder Law, estate planning, Medicaid planning, long-term care planning, and helping individuals and families prepare for the future with confidence.
Originally from Augusta, Georgia, Peyton developed an interest in the legal profession at an early age through her love of reading, writing, and debate. She earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science from Georgia College and State University before attending the University of South Carolina Joseph F. Rice School of Law.
During law school, Peyton gained valuable practical experience through internships and hands-on legal training that helped shape her passion for helping individuals and families through estate planning and Elder Law. She also competed as a member of her law school’s Mock Trial team, where she strengthened her advocacy, communication, and problem-solving skills. Peyton received the CALI Award for Trial Advocacy, an honor recognizing the highest grade in her class.
Peyton chose a career in law because she wanted to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. She believes attorneys have an important responsibility to listen carefully, understand each client’s goals, and provide guidance that brings clarity and peace of mind during uncertain times.
Outside of the office, Peyton enjoys cooking, baking, reading, traveling, spending time outdoors, and making memories with her fiancé and their three dogs. She believes attorneys should be active members of their communities and is passionate about supporting the people and organizations around her.
