White & Allen, P.A. is proud to announce that Real Estate Attorney Richard “Dick” Archie has been honored by NC Lawyers Weekly as a member of its 2025 Real Estate Power List. This recognition celebrates attorneys across North Carolina who demonstrate exceptional skill, leadership, and influence in the field of real estate law.

A Passion for the Process

As a transactional attorney, Dick’s work focuses on helping clients successfully navigate what is often one of the most significant financial decisions of their lives. His approach emphasizes efficiency, accuracy, and open communication, ensuring each transaction—whether straightforward or complex—moves smoothly toward closing.

“I chose real estate because I genuinely enjoy helping clients navigate the buying and selling process,” Dick shared. “Every closing is different, and I take pride in understanding my clients’ goals and guiding them through the details needed to achieve them. Seeing clients succeed and knowing I played a part in that journey is what keeps me passionate about this work.”

That passion has earned him the trust of clients and colleagues alike, as well as leadership roles within the North Carolina real estate bar. Dick has served on the Real Property Council and the Board of Directors for RELANC, previously leading both organizations. He is also a contributor to continuing legal education programs, helping educate and support fellow attorneys across the state.

Looking Ahead: The Future of Real Estate in North Carolina

While Dick remains optimistic about the profession, he is also candid about the challenges facing real estate law in North Carolina. One concern is the growing impact of technology-related uncertainties—particularly the potential risks associated with software systems used in court and recording processes—which could disrupt transactions if not carefully addressed.

Equally pressing, Dick notes, is a longer-term issue affecting communities across the state: the declining number of practicing real estate attorneys in certain counties. As experienced lawyers retire and fewer new attorneys enter the practice area, access to local real estate counsel may become increasingly limited.

“Even with advances in remote title searches and electronic recording, those tools don’t fully replace the value of having a knowledgeable local real estate attorney,” Dick explains. “Protecting the public in what is often the largest transaction of their lives requires experience, judgment, and local insight.”

A Well-Deserved Honor

Dick’s recognition on the 2025 Real Estate Power List underscores his commitment not only to his clients, but also to the integrity of real estate practice across North Carolina. White & Allen, P.A. congratulates Dick on this well-deserved honor and thanks him for the professionalism, leadership, and dedication he brings to the firm and the communities we serve.
